Boxer Dog Rescue

Boxer Dog Rescue organizations accept stray Boxers, provide due care and treatment, if required, and find new owners for them. Unfortunately, the number of abandoned or lost Boxers does not seem to dwindle, because people continue to make the same mistakes. Not infrequently, people surrender or simply cast out their dogs because of disappointment or inability to properly care for their dogs. Of course, this may be due to an unexpected juncture of circumstances, but in many cases it is due to negligent and careless attitude to the problem.

Many people purchase dogs without actually knowing who they are purchasing from. As a rule, dollar-oriented backyard breeders offer more puppies and at a lower price, than a qualified breeder, who produces show quality dogs. Those why buy from “puppy mills” run a greater risk of disappointment, as they, looking forward to an exciting prospect of their dogs winning a championship, do not even suspect that even a slight deviation from the breed standard will turn the dream into ashes. For dogs raised in backyard kennels, the risk of getting a serious genetic disease or infection will increase tenfold. Puppies may not always show signs of a serious disease, and it is often several yeas later that the problem becomes evident. At this point, many people see no other way out than surrendering their Boxers to Boxer Dog Rescue.

Many Dogs, especially those bred in backyard kennels, have serious socialization problems and therefore become dangerously aggressive. More often than not, improper behavior stems incorrect or abusive training, or no training at all. Many people buy Boxers out of prestige, without much thought of what it takes to be a good Boxer owner and if it is really easy to bring up a reliable and affectionate companion. If you have missed some important moments during the dog’s training age, it will be much more difficult, if not impossible to correct the poor behavior later on. This is another reason why so many dogs land up in Boxer Dog Rescue organizations.

As we can see, for the most part, it is our own responsibility to reduce the number of abandoned dogs, as most problems arise from our own negligence and carelessness. Very often, we are in a hurry when choosing a dog and think it a secondary issue to pick out a good breeder. At the same time, there are more stray Boxers than rescue clubs can handle, so there is no guarantee the club will accept the dog from you if you decide to surrender him. Many Boxer Dog Rescue organizations have worked out their own rules, in following which they either accept dogs from clients or reject them.
